Eviction Protection

Real estate value aside, the intangible value of a home is – priceless.  Homes come in all shapes and sizes and serve many of our most basic physical and emotional needs. They protect us from the physical elements.  They provide a place where we can seek shelter from the hustle and bustle of the world in which we live.  Homes are places where we gather with family to share our joys and sorrows.  They are a place where memories begin – and are remembered.  Large or small, owned or rented, the real value of a home is the contribution it makes to our physical and emotional well being by providing shelter, comfort and a sense of security.

We all know that the value of a home is not free. It comes at a price.  For some it’s the rent.  For others it’s the monthly mortgage. Whether we own or rent our home, we are reminded each month just how much it costs to provide a home for our families and ourselves.  For some families in our community the cost is more than they can afford. Although the reasons vary, the result can be the same – eviction.  Eviction can destroy a family’s sense of security and well being.

Recognizing the real cost of eviction on families, SPAN provides assistance once a year to eligible families confronted with eviction or foreclosure.

Our Eviction Policy:
SPAN will assist with eviction prevention, once the process has gone to court and there is a judgment or judge's determination.  We may, in some cases, help to prevent foreclosures.

  • Client must prevent eviction notice with the disposition section completed, including the judge's determination, signature and date.
  • The client or their spouse's name must appear on the eviction notice.
  • Client presenting the notice must be one of the parties named in it or have other written proof of their legal responsibility for the payment due.
  • If the client is seeking assistance to avoid foreclosure, all documentation from the mortgage company must be presented.
