Food Pantry

Nonperishable food donated by individuals, collected at area churches and during food drives sponsored by various community organizations helps to feed the many local families in who might otherwise go hungry.

In FY 2007, food given to SPAN helped feed 1,353 families.  Some of the families assisted may have received food up to three times a month whereas others received food once or twice over the course of the year. Regardless of how often food was received, it put food on tables that might otherwise have been bare.  Based on average prices in local supermarkets, it is estimated that the value of the food provided was $89,040.00.

Your gifts of food to SPAN do make a difference in many of our neighbors' lives.  You can help make a difference by...
    •  Including SPAN in your weekly shopping list and delivering the donation to the SPAN center.
    •  Presenting your offering of food in church.  Most partner churches have collection baskets for SPAN on site.
    •  Dropping donations off at one of two collection sites:  the Severna Park Library and M&T Bank in Park Plaza.
    •  Sponsoring a food drive for SPAN. This can be done through sports teams, schools, businesses, communities/neighborhoods or local clubs.
    •  Sending a monetary donation.

Toiletries: shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes and paste, female hygeine product,toilet paper
Snack Food for children home for summer months.
Potatoe mixes: mashed, scalloped, au gratin.
Stuffing mix
Muffin and Bread Mixes

Ramon's instant soups
